Mark’s Music

I love music; I love playing it, listening to it, creating it…pretty much anything that has to do with music.  The cello is my main instrument, and I also play the guitar, piano, bass, and sing.  In addition, I do recording with some equipment that I have.  I’ve been trying to build up my studio, and I have fun with the stuff I have.  I record myself, friends, and family.  I’d like to start sharing some of my music, so I created this page to display my music.  You’ll probably be able to tell in the music how I’ve learned and progressed as a recording engineer.  I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for listening!

If you click on the link of the song, it will download the mp3 to your computer.  If you click on the audio symbol to the right of it, it will play the song on your web browser.

Last year for a senior project, I recorded five songs and presented them before a committee.  Here they are:

  1. The Star-Spangled Banner  Two Electric Guitars
  2. 100 Years  Piano, Cello, Rhythm Electric Guitar, Lead Electric Guitar, Vocals
  3. Julie-O  Cello
  4. Dreamland Express  Acoustic Guitar, Vocals
  5. Better Together  Acoustic Guitar, Vocals

This year, for my winter semester private cello lessons, I am recording the music I played for the BYU School of Music auditions.  It’s not finished yet, and these tracks aren’t completely done, but here’s what I have:

  1. Menuetts  Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suites, Suite No. 1
  2. Sarabande  Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suites, Suite No. 1

I’ve started writing music this year, and I wanted to get at least one of my own compositions out here before I left on mission.  It’s pretty short, but you have to start somewhere, right?  We’re having problems with the audio player, it plays the song slow and flat, so you’ll have to download it to hear how it’s supposed to sound.  Hope you like it!
