2016 Reading Challenge post #3

December 21, 2015 by Sue 3 Comments

Just can’t get enough of all the fun challenges going up for next year so I’m posting as I go this year instead of  one massive post at the end of December. Some are old ones that I love and some are brand new because I like the mix. But I think this is the end. This makes 9 challenges, plus the 2 from Riedel Fascination that go until February 2016, so that is enough to manage!

Cruisin’ Thru The Cozies Reading Challenge 2016

This is the sixth annual Cruisin’ thru the Cozies hosted by Yvonne at Socrates’ Book Reviews and 2016 will be my 4th year to participate. I read a lot of these and have made the top level long before the year ends so that’s my goal again: Level 4 – Sleuth Extraordinaire – Read 21 or more books
Level 1 – Snoop – Read at least 6 books
Level 2 – Investigator – Read 7-12 books
Level 3 – Super Sleuth – Read 13-20 books
Level 4 – Sleuth Extraordinaire – Read 21 or more books

The ninth annual What’s In A Name challenge is once again hosted by The Worm Hole. I began the fun in 2009 so I can’t pass up the chance to play again.

Read one book from each of the following categories:

A country
An item of clothing
An item of furniture
A profession
A month of the year
A title with the word ‘tree’ in it

Smiling ShelvesNewbery Reading Challenge 2016

This is the third year of this challenge and I have participated since the beginning. It helps me stay focused on my perpetual challenge of reading all the winners.  Julie of Smiling Shelves is once again the host and I am going to repeat the L’Engle level: 15-29 points.

Each book you read is worth points. You get:
3 points for a Newbery Medal Winner
2 points for a Newbery Honor Book
1 point for a Caldecott Medal Winner

In addition to that, you pick a level to aim for:
L’Engle: 15 – 29 points
Spinelli: 30 – 44 points
Avi: 45 – 59 points
Lowry: 60 – 74 points
Konigsburg: 75+ points

Full House Reading Challenge 2016

This challenge hosted by Book Date is simple: complete the card below, in any order you wish.  You are allowed “one free exchange”, if there is something on the square you really dislike you may change it to something of your choice.
