This was my fifth year for this challenge and thanks to Bev at My Reader’s Block for hosting. In an effort to read my own books as much as possible, I made a list at sign-up to keep me on task. That list is included in parentheses and the actual book read is included in bold. Result: 3 out 9 as planned, although 4 of the other 6 were my books, so I still mostly read my own books!

Rules: Read nine books in the following categories during 2017. [Read more…] about 2017 Color Coded Reading Challenge wrap-up

Where are You Reading? 2017 wrap-up

September 1, 2017 by Sue Leave a Comment

The Where are You Reading? Reading Challenge 2017 is hosted by Book Dragon’s Lair and I joined up in late January, even though I said I was done with new challenges. The goal was to read a book that takes place in each letter of the alphabet, with real or fictional locations allowed.

I identified books from my TBR stacks at the beginning of the year to fulfill this challenge and in the end, I only went with two of my original ideas. Of the other four, only one was on TBR shelf, so half isn’t bad, I guess. One of the new books was read for book club.

The rules are simple-Read one book from each category during the year. [Read more…] about What’s In a Name 2017 wrap-up post

Wild Goose Chase Reading Challenge 2017 wrap-up

Wild Goose Chase 2017

This challenge is hosted by The Bookshelf Gargoyle and I joined to further my wish to do more category challenges this year. I got it done in the first half of the year by reading a book from each category. I list in parentheses the books I set aside from shelves in January to read for this challenge, and then after in bold what I actually ended up reading. Only two of the seven were the books I planned, but they were still from my TBR shelves, except #3 which was a borrowed book I read and gave back to the owner.
