Ode to the 1930’s Block #39

January 28, 2017 by Sue Leave a Comment

In the middle of December 2016, we took a break from 3″ squares and did another applique square. This one is Block #39 called English Flower Pot and is 12″x12″. It was fairly straightforward and we used the same color scheme used in the pattern and the same fabrics, although one of us flipped the top leaves and side flowers to the opposite sides on accident. Oops! But who will know in the finished quilt, right?

I wrote a while ago about our newest member, Vickie, who we are teaching to piece. She is a sewist already, but has never pieced so this is a block from her first quilt. She is sewing along with us on her project while we finish the 1930’s quilt. I thought it was only fair to showcase what she accomplished the day we did the above blocks. Looking great!
