Ode to the 1930’s Blocks #26-27

November 11, 2016 by Sue Leave a Comment

I haven’t updated the 1930’s progress since June! Yikes! We did one more 6″ block during that month and then spent the next several weeks finishing the tops of “America the Beautiful”, our other group project . #26 is called Pieced Basket #1 and is just a diagonal basket with flowers in it and very appropriate for June. It features a blue and red basket with light blue flowers and we followed the pattern color scheme.

In August we started work in earnest on this quilt by working on it each week. Block #27 is call Rosebud and we chose peach and brown with touches of yellow and green. This is a complete deviation from the pattern which calls for teal and yellow, but we felt there was enough of that already, plus we have fabrics we still want to use. It’s a modified pinwheel block and quite interesting; also a 6″ block.
