Ode to the 1930’s Blocks #30-31

November 20, 2016 by Sue Leave a Comment

We spent a week in September choosing fabrics and cutting kits for the remaining 6″ blocks, then worked on #30 Pieced Basket #3. The pattern calls for red and black and we actually followed the pattern exactly on this block. And aren’t those Scottie dogs in the main part of the basket cute? We were getting a little worn with pieced baskets so glad this is the last one.

Block #31 is called Monkey Wrench and went together like a dream. We looked at the pattern, commented that it should go together easily, and then all stopped and looked at each other. Did we just jinx ourselves and call down the bad karma of the quilting gods? Thankfully no, we had zero problems and thought it was a very cute block. Pattern called for peach and green, and look at us: compliant again!
