RSC2025 year-end

December 27, 2025 by Sue 13 Comments

YOUR BLOG NAME

I started 8 projects for RSC2025 & here’s my progress for the year end. Honestly, I’ve done better than other years, even if I only got 3 to flimsy stage before year’s end.

#1-Scraptastic Stars by Melissa Corry made it to flimsy stage & is waiting to be quilted

#2-County Fair by Amy Smart is currently at the quilter

#3-2.5″ Rail Fence blocks were begun in 2024 & continued this year; it’s a flimsy ready to be donated to Many Hands Many Hearts with my February box

#4-Angela’s Sawtooth Stars 2015: 8 stars made, need more stars & chain blocks (continue in 2026)
#5-Scrap Stash Plus: all blocks made, need to be assembled
#6-Moda Blockheads: all blocks made, need sashing
#7-Strippy Slab Star: 8 stars made, need to decide on layout & make whatever that entails
#8-Patchwork Hearts: need to make 2 gray hearts, then assemble
I also had a goal of getting 12 WIP’s to the flimsy stage & I accomplished that, with 10 of them already donated, one needing me to bind it, & one still at my friend’s waiting to be quilted. So totally awesome on that front.

Angela asked for our RSC2026 plan & I’m going a bit rogue this year! I’m going to finish up last year’s projects to begin with & start only 2 new projects. 🙂 I bought a kit on sale at the Shop Hop in April that I planned specifically for next year’s RSC. It’s called Starlets & has a LV background with colored sawtooth stars. I plan to cut it all early in January, then I can pull out the color for the month & sew them up. I’ve done this before with a planned quilt & it works well. The other project will be a scrap block & I’m still up in the air on what that will be because I have so many I want to make, I can’t decide.

The rest of my plan is the rogue part: sew a WIP that is predominantly in the color of the month. I’m excited about this because I really want to clean out some project boxes & move more cut pieces into finished projects. (Don’t we all? LOL)

Pink: Hope? Pine Hollow?
Blue: Rocky Road to Grayson
Yellow: September Sky orphans into something
Red: Old Town Mystery
Green: Strings with Squares
Orange: Log Cabin Hearts
Purple: old purple jelly roll-pick a pattern
Aqua: Love Utah
Brown/Black: Black & White triangles

Excited to start a new year & see everyone’s plans. And then not be distracted by your cute blocks. Ha!

I love all three of the RSC quilt tops that you’re showing, Sue! They’re going to make beautiful finishes. I am also sending a quilt top to MHMH. Need to get that done to finish the year. Great idea to work on a UFO each month in 2026, too!

You have three beautiful quilt tops there, I particularly like the star quilt. I’m in the same boat as you, plenty of started RSC projects waiting to be finished! I really need to concentrate on them.

I really but really love your Scraptastic Star. I want one ever since I first lay eyes on your rendition. Will it be my 2026 project? I don’t know yet if I will start someone new because there’s already so many to finish. And then, like you, I get distracted by everyone’s cute blocks. Lol. ;^)

Beautiful colorful quilts! And a very cool idea to finish up something every month. Good luck!

LOVE how you used your scraps this year. Can’t wait to see what the quilter does to Scrappy Fair. Great progress!

It’s amazing you have your projects already assigned for each color next year. Maybe I should go through my stuff and see if I could get organized like that. It would be better to finish something than to start something new. I’ll look at Blues first.

I can’t survive without trying to be organized. Otherwise I would squirrel everywhere!

I’m super happy with it. It’s next to the quilter! And yes, it should be your 2026 project! It used up so many scraps!!!

Lovely, lovely finishes – and WIPs. My goals for 2026 are similar. I really need to finish up more UFOs and WIPs, and kits that are hiding away in drawers and project boxes. Good luck to both of us!!

We will prevail! And encourage each other not to squirrel. LOL
