The hostess with the mostest

I’m not really known for throwing parties.  I don’t dislike it, I just don’t do it much.  But every so often I go all out. With help, of course.  Scott went above and beyond by building another step for the deck, repairing baseboard, and painting the front door the day before, plus helping me shop and decorate.  I borrowed dishes from my mother-in-law and Scott’s sister, and Mark came up to help clean up at the end.  My sister planned the food, and others brought it.  Moral: a good hostess uses her resources!  I cleaned and decorated and did the drinks.  Well, Scott cleaned, too, because honestly, big events wear down my limited stamina these days.

So what was it all about?  My brother and his wife have 3 boys and are now expecting twin girls.  So we had a shower so she could get super cute girl stuff.  Everyone came through in a big way, because “Ooooo cute!” and “Ooooo super cute!” were the most-heard comments.

We’re now waiting for the arrivals any day.
