I did the Monthly Key Words in 2013, but the host offered this new challenge and I like it! A really fun challenge to come up with something for each month and I completed it early in December!

I decided to join this challenge to jumpstart my perpetual challenge of reading all the winners. My goal was the L’Engle level: 15-29 points, and although I thought I would just make the lower threshold, I actually hit the top of the first level.
Each book you read is worth points. You get:
3 points for a Newbery Medal Winner
2 points for a Newbery Honor Book
1 point for a Caldecott Medal Winner

In the last two weeks of group sewing, we made the last two barn blocks for the quilt. Last week’s block was the Summer Star block. This is the only “twinner” block we made. We both loved this barn and roof fabric and decided to use them. As we were looking at fabrics for the blocks on the side of the barn, we just found these fabrics that worked and decided to go the same and be twins. Because of the planning we did, this is probably the most harmonious of all the barns. Most of the wall blocks are independent of the barn fabrics, but this one all blends together. 2) It doesn’t matter if you have 1 or 10 books in a series to complete it, it qualifies. The goal is to complete a series from wherever you are up to until the last published book.

My goal for this challenge was Level 2 and I actually completed four series this year so I’m calling this one because I have outdone myself. I completed the following four series:
