I purchased the popcorn-themed fabric for this year’s auction quilt benefitting Primary Children’s Hospital in April but dealing with the stress fracture in my foot since then has made it tough to do the cutting. Now that I’m out of the wheelchair, I felt like I could stand & cut. So this week I did all the cutting one day & did the sewing the rest of the week.

I finished “It’s Popcorn Time” Friday afternoon & am planning to drop it off for quilting today. The rush came about because now I’m scheduled for thumb surgery for my arthritis on 23 September, so I won’t be sewing for a while. I figured I’d better get my priority quilt done first. The pattern comes from John Q. Adams’ book, Beyond Neutral, a book I’ve had forever & now I’ve finally made one of the patterns!
Popcorn is yellow, so I’m still in the feel of August’s color. LOL Now it’s back to the RSC WIP I was trying to complete last week & maybe some purple blocks??

Isn’t that cute?! I love the red striped popcorn boxes, and then the little red striped pieces here and there, too. Way to go, Sue, getting that cut and sewn so quickly!
You have a great eye for fun fabric. Who knew there were so many popcorn prints. Wishing you all the best in recovery from thumb surgery.
Special orders from Spoonflower to the rescue!!
I hope your surgery goes well. It will be hard to be away from stitching while you heal. I sure like your pop corn box blocks. That is one pretty quilt!

>>>Thanks for letting me be the first clipboard example! 🙂
That’s because you are such a good example for everything. Don’t know why I didn’t add those links before, it looks like a useful thing for those in both challenges.
>>> on Six Shooter, previously we had put Robin Paige with Susan Wittig Albert since that is a pen name for her, but I see you broke her out as separate. Wondering??
Ooops .. when the Robin Paige entry came in, I didn’t catch on it was Susan Wittig Albert! I will combine them when I update. Probably this afternoon… the rain is coming and I have some garden work to do before it gets here.
PS> I always enjoy looking at your blog and the beautiful work you create!
Cool quilt!!! What a great use of the popcorn themed fabrics!!!
