2016 Mount TBR Reading Challenge

This was my fourth year for this challenge and thanks to Bev at My Reader’s Block for hosting. I signed up for Mt. Ararat to read 48 books from my TBR pile and made it up the mountain! I made it by the middle of December and although I plan to read a couple more books this month, I won’t get to another milestone, so I’m calling it complete. Here’s my list of books read and off my shelves. I reviewed them all on goodreads. [Read more…] about 2016 Mount TBR Reading Challenge wrap-up

I2016 YA Reading Challenge joined this YA challenge hosted by Whole Latte Books. The rules were simple: read YA books which I love.  12 of the 39 books I read were re-reads, mostly via audio; 3 were for a book club.  Literary Loners Reading Challenge 2016

I was invited by the author of Whatever I Think Of! to join her new challenge and I am game! There are two options: characters or authors and I chose main or secondary characters identified as a loner, outcast, recluse, wallflower, or introvert. She did not prescribe levels so I just started being cognizant of identifying loners in my reading, and here’s what I found. [Read more…] about Literary Loners Reading Challenge 2016 wrap-up

Ode to the 1930’s Blocks #37-38

December 2, 2016 by Sue Leave a Comment

By mid-October we had left the 6 applique blocks that didn’t include any piecing and the 3 (3″) blocks that each include multiples of the same pattern. We decided to intersperse the applique and pieced blocks so that we didn’t go crazy with all the machine applique. We did #37 Mexican Rose and began by choosing fabrics, tracing, and cutting one week along with choosing and cutting fabrics for the 3″ triangles. [Read more…] about Ode to the 1930’s Blocks #37-38
